I agree with other answerer on the ability for it to run Starcraft 2 however the best CPU for gaming is the i7-2600k. Not for its hyperthreading, but since it has a slightly faster clock speed and is overclockable. The base i5-2500 is NOT overclockable. However, if you thought about going for the 2500, then you should go for the 2500k. Little bit more but is overclockable, unless of course, you don't plan on overclocking.
