What is the painting The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci made out of?

The History Channel just had a program on about it. They said he painted with egg tempera on dry plaster. Usually this was not the method most used and that is why it failed needing restoration many times over the centuries. As a matter of fact soon after it was painted it was deteriorating.
