Is ethanol doing far more bad than good?

Increased ethanol production is raising food prices all over the world, as more farmers are switching to growing corn for ethanol than growing wheat and other crops for eating. In Haiti, thousands rioted outside the capitol when the price of food there doubled. So, do you think ethanol is really all that good? Is the US's demand for ethanol severely harming the developing countries it has always striven to support? Are you being positively or negatively affected by ethanol?
