Is there any way to be re-instated as list owner of my group?

I am not sure why my account was deleted and I lost control of several groups. I had appointed a moderator but had only given her minimal powers. So at this time our group really has no one in control of it. We get spammers and very inappropriate emails. I have sent questions to yahoo help but have not been able to get a clear response. I would either like to get control of the group back under my new yahoo ID or let the current moderator become list owner. Anyone know of a way this can be done. It would be the best thing for the group which has about 1700 members.
