Chemical synthesis of polypeptide chain. Gly-Ala-Phe?

In the lab you can buy a kit for synthesizing small peptides using a special resin and a support matrix. You add the glycine and I believe you react it with the functional group of the matrix so it is attached temporarily. Then you protect one of the alanine functional groups so it doesn't react with itself and add it to the glycine matrix to make Gly-Ala, repeat this again with Phenylalanine. Then when you have Gly-Ala-Phe you add something to break the bonds with the matrix.
